This success story did not begin in a garage – but in her living room at home in Hamburg. There, in 2004, Andrea Montua laid the foundations for MontuaPartner Communications (MPC), the first agency in Germany to specialize exclusively in internal communications. This was quickly followed by the first orders for the creation of internal newsletters and employee magazines, for example for banks, the mineral oil industry and food companies.
Years of growth and change
The formerly small team of freelance specialists has grown to more than 30 permanent and freelance colleagues, including copywriters and graphic designers as well as communication experts, strategists, trainers and organizational developers.
Today, 20 years later, MPC has transformed itself from an internal communications agency into a consulting agency specializing in change, transformation and leadership. It is one of the top addresses in Germany, Austria and Switzerland when it comes to communicating change sustainably in companies and successfully shaping change.
Setting a good (change) example
Andrea Montua, founder, managing director and namesake of the agency, describes it like this: “Internal communication has completely reinvented itself over the past 20 years and undergone a true transformation. What began as simply editing employee magazines is now one of the most important disciplines for companies and managers, without which sustainable change is no longer conceivable.”
MPC has also changed repeatedly over these two decades in order to adapt developments in IC to the needs of customers and to map out communication paths. In doing so, the company has made a significant contribution to transforming internal communication as transformation support, as an internal sparring and coaching partner and as a management enabler.
“We are proud of what we do, and at the same time see it as a great responsibility and privilege to work with the people of so many companies to bring about real change through communication,” says Andrea Montua.
For its anniversary year, MPC is planning events, workshops and publications that focus on communication in transformation processes. In spring, the second edition of her book “Führungsaufgabe Interne Kommunikation” will be published by Springer Gabler Verlag.
