Suddenly digital

Suddenly digital

The topic for the coming months: digitization – now! With the introduction of Microsoft 365.

Challenges

One of the biggest difficulties was the structure of the institution. Traditional hierarchies, as we know them from organizations, are missing. Of course there are management circles, but a cascade that can also be used for communication is missing. The existing culture was also more of a preservative one and strong forces of inertia awaited us.

Approach

A classic strategic approach helped us to identify stumbling blocks and success factors at an early stage. We chose five consecutive steps:

  1. Analysis of the status quo
  2. Create target group matrix, define key messages and measures
  3. Convince and empower managers,
  4. Set up comprehensive multichannel communication
  5. Training cultural guides as multipliers

First steps

Due to the really complex organizational structure and the variety of topics, we invested a lot of time and meticulousness in a detailed stakeholder analysis. This made it clear to managers in particular what a great opportunity for cultural change this digitalization offers. It also became clear how great the potential for networking is. In order to serve the “freedom tradition” of self-sufficient managers, we rely on pure benefit communication.

Result

The pilot phase is just starting and we are sure that this major digitization step will move the organization into new and productive times.
