“Internal before external” is perhaps the rule of communication that is most often preached and then ignored against better judgment. And although it is so simple, it is still not widely accepted. This is a shame, because it plays a key role in sustainability communication. Credibility starts internally. So if we don’t succeed in taking our employees with us into the new sustainable corporate world and turning them into ambassadors, then the project will also fail with all other stakeholders.
