Anyone who works in communications knows that there is no way around a company’s works council. Especially in difficult times, the eyes of employees are on their representatives, communication channels must be open and an exchange ensured.
We often find that the relationship with colleagues is rather strained and that they have a reputation as blockers and delayers.
Does it have to be like this? Are there other possibilities and perspectives? Definitely – for example, those of Heiko Lossie. Andrea Montua talks to him in her latest podcast “Auf einen Tee”. Heiko is Head of Press and Public Relations at the General and Group Works Council of Volkswagen AG. It is said to be one of the most powerful in the whole of Germany. He likes to call it “the bright side of power”, which naturally polarizes people.
At the same time, he provides insights into relationship management on both sides. It’s about the right amount of closeness and distance, trust and respect for the other person’s role. Even fly fishing and currywurst have made it into this podcast. Who wouldn’t be curious?
